(I’m a plus-sized woman (or, as I like to say, a “woman of size”) waiting on line to pay. A young man on his cell phone breezes past me to the register with his purchase and money in his other hand.)

Cashier: Excuse me, sir, but this lady (indicating me) was before you.
Young Man: *turns around* Oh, gee, I’m sorry! I didn’t even see you.
Me: No problem.

(He pays and goes on his way.)

Me to cashier: He didn’t see me? I don’t know whether to be insulted or flattered.
