The Sub Is A Correctional Officer

| Learning | December 26, 2015

(In English, a sub is having a boy read aloud. He messes up a couple times, and she corrects him. But then it gets to the point where she corrects him on the smallest of things. She honestly corrected him on the pronunciation of “rebel” at one point. Finally, with many interruptions from her, he finishes his passage.)

Substitute: “Very nice, [Student]. You did good.”

Me: “You did well.”

Substitute: “Well, yes… but, it was just a figure of speech!”

(I lean in to Student and whisper my apologies for what he had to go through.)

Student: *laughs* “I honestly was messing up on purpose towards the end, because she seemed to like correcting me so much.”
