Not Quite An Eggs-pert

(It’s my younger brother’s birthday, and we are eating ice cream cake. Our mother scoops up some ice cream and whipped cream to feed to my six-month-old daughter.)

Mom: “See! She likes it!”

Me: “Well, I guess we find out if she is allergic to eggs today.”

Mom: “There are no eggs in ice cream!”

Sister: “Umm…  They are kind of an essential part, actually.”

Mom: “Really?”

Brother: “Oh, my god, Mom. You can’t be this stupid.”

Mom: “Wait, it really does have eggs in it?”
