Not Cosplaying Around Anymore

(My ex and I are still friends and both cosplayers. I am currently working on a cosplay of a character from a post-apocalyptic TV show. During the latest season this character died after being hit by a stray bullet. I am currently discussing my cosplay with my ex.)

Me: “I don’t know where to put all my stuff, like my phone. Where does [Character] keep her stuff? She doesn’t have pockets. But I guess she doesn’t have a phone either.”

Ex: “Just bring a bag?”

Me: “But [Character] doesn’t have a bag. It wouldn’t be authentic.”

Ex: “You don’t have to be authentic.”

Me: “But I want to be! I need to be, feel, breathe [Character]!”

Ex: “All right, don’t complain to me, then. So when are you gonna go get yourself shot?”

Me: “…”
