Giving Your Friendship A Slap In The Face

(My friend, Friend #1, and I are visiting another friend, Friend #2, who is working overseas. Friend #2 has only one guest room, with a double bed, so Friend #1 and I have to share the bed. Note: We are all female, and Friend #1 is married. This happens after the first night.)

Friend #2: “Hey, how was everything?”

Friend #1: “Great! I slept like a baby.”

Me: “Wasn’t that great.”

Friend #2: “Why?”

Me: “Because I was woken up at 2.30am by [Friend #1], who rolled over and slapped my face. When I was wondering what just happened, [Friend #1] began cuddling up against me. I had to shove her off me onto her side of the bed.”

Friend #1: “I’m used to sleeping with my husband and cuddling up to him every night!”

Me: “Then how do you explain the slap?”

Friend #1: “I must have dreamt that he did something that made me mad, so I decided to lean over and slap him for that.”
