Frown On Charlie Brown
(In my Art Appreciation class, our professor is introducing us to our next assignment, drawing a comic strip. She has been projecting examples and asking the class to describe them. Now, she shows a ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.)
Professor: “And here you can see Peanut playing with his friends.”
Me: “Charlie Brown.”
Professor: “What?”
Me: “His name is Charlie Brown, not Peanut.”
Professor: “That doesn’t sound quite right… Why would they call the comic ‘Peanut’ if his name isn’t Peanut?”
Me: *resists urge to cry into my textbook*
