Unfiltered Story #99138
Quote:
(I work in a gas station with one of those made-to-order sub stations. People walk up and talk to me while I make their sandwich or while they wait for other food made in the kitchen behind me. Today, a friend of my mom’s came in with her daughter and started asking me about how I applied for college and how I’m making it out with no debt; then she left. A man walks up to me)
Me: Hi, can I help you?
Customer: Yeah, can you pay my bills?
(sound coming into the kitchen is usually kind of muffled, so I stared at him for a moment positive I misheard)
Me: Uh… no?
Customer: Oh. I’ve got a kid in college and another on the way, so I need some help!
Me: I don’t think I can help you!
(I ran away to do dishes before he could try to ask me more about money!)
