My boyfriend and I are at a waterpark for a New Year’s celebration with his friends from college. Many of the slides have weight limits for safety reasons; I’d been on a scale earlier for another slide so I knew exactly how much I weighed that day. We queue up for an area that has 1 staircase for 4 different slides. There are 2 seemingly identical slides but one has a 150-pound weight limit. He knows he’s above that so he goes on the other slide. I head toward the slide with the limit, but a lifeguard blows their whistle at me and tells me to go on the other. I weigh around 145 pounds so while I’m technically under, I figure it isn’t worth fighting about and I just go down the other slide. When I reach the bottom, my boyfriend greets me with:
Boyfriend: Great! Now I have to go beat up a lifeguard. That wasn’t on my to-do list today!
My feelings really weren’t hurt at all but he did make me laugh!
