Mom In The Hood

(I am a gamer. I live in a very small unit with my mum. We can only fit a TV in the living room.  The living room is connected to our kitchen and dining area. Often when I’m playing games she’ll being doing something nearby. As I learn, she takes in more than I initially thought.)

Mum: *walks in wearing a hoodie with the hood up*

Me: “Why have you got your hood up?”

Mum: “I’m just cold; I’m not trying to look like Alex Mercer.”

Me: “Did… did you just reference Prototype?”

Mum: *surprised* “I pay attention to all this. I could’ve referenced Ezio but I’m kind of sick of watching you play Assassin’s Creed.”

Me: “Mum, I’m so proud!”

Mum: “I know how to make my daughter happy!”

(She does. I was beaming for the rest of the day and we still talk a lot about games!)
