Can’t Brush Those Memories Aside

| Friendly | July 6, 2016

(I draw animal-people, often called “anthro” characters (short for “anthropomorphic”). A friend of a friend on the art site I use is a comic artist.)

Artist Friend: *joking* “Anthro artists get all the attention; comic artists have to scrub the floors with a toothbrush.”

(In response I draw a comic of myself presenting him with a toothbrush bigger than he is. Years later, I wind up dating the friend I know him through, and when I visit his hometown for the first time one of the people we visit is the artist friend. He’s barely introduced himself before he goes running back inside… and comes out holding an arm-length toothbrush!)

Artist Friend: “I’ve been waiting EIGHT YEARS to give this to you! I don’t even remember WHY!”

(Apparently the comic struck a chord with him, because he even remembered what color it was!)
