Alumnus: *sounding tired* “Hello?”
Me: “Hi, I’m [My Name] and I’m calling from [University]. We are reaching out to our alumni to update them on the exciting things happening at [University]!”
Alumnus: “Do you have any idea what TIME it is?”
Me: *turns to look at clock* “Uh, 7:35…” *something tells me I had better add* “…pm.”
Alumnus: “Really? What day is it?”
Me: “Wednesday…” *pause* “Should I call back another time?”
Alumnus: “Yes. Yes, I think that would be a VERY good idea.”
