Absent-Hearted

Mom: *puts hand on the middle of her chest* “Can you feel your heartbeat when you do this?”

Me: “Yes, of course I can.”

Mom: “I can’t!”

Me: “What?”

Mom: “Yeah! So last night I did this, and couldn’t feel my heartbeat. So I quickly checked my pulse on my wrist to make sure I was still alive!”
