A Food For Thoughtful Relationship
(I’m on the phone with my husband as he drives home from work.)
Husband: “I didn’t bring enough for lunch today, so I’m pretty hungry. Will dinner be ready when I get home?”
Me: “Yeah, I’m working on it right now.”
Husband: “I’m actually really hungry. And we don’t have any snack food. I realized that the other night, and I thought it was weird, because you just went to the store.”
Me: “Sorry you were hungry. I went back to the store today, because I realized I forgot to buy important things, like eggs and butter, and I bought you some chips. I even got that barbecue kind you like.”
Husband: “Yes! Thank you! You know me; I have to have my snacks or I might just die.”
