(Our 21-month old son still hasn’t learned many words. I’m playing with him as my husband changes his diaper to keep him from making a fuss when he bites my hand.)
Me: Ouch! No biting. You just bit a vein!
Son: -whines/gets upset as I take my hand away-
Husband: No biting [Son]. You know what will happen if you continue to do that?
Son: dead ma-ma?
(Husband and I do a double take. Son laughs. Not sure how I should take that…)
