<LAST MONTH>

Spectrum VOIP: “Why haven’t you paid this bill?”

Well, did you *send* us a bill?

SVOIP: “We emailed it.”

So you expect me to dig through my spam filter every day in case someone has sent me a bill that way instead of to my billing address?

“We emailed it…”

Do you *HAVE* my billing address?

“…yes.”

Read it to me

“[CORRECT ADDRESS]”

And is there any *other* billing address on file..?

“No, that’s the only billing address on file.”

And so why haven’t the bills been coming to that address?

“Because we’ve been emailing them.”

To what address?

“[EMAIL ADDRESS]”

And is that the billing address on file..?

“No, the billing address on file is [CORRECT ADDRESS]”

So why aren’t you sending the bills to that address?

“We’re emailing them.”

So look here, I’ll make this very simple. If you want me to pay the bill, send it to the billing address. If you don’t send it to the billing address, it’s not going to get paid. Are we understood?

“We are. I’ll put a note on the account.”

<FLASH FORWARD TO TODAY>

The absolute unmitigated arseholes sent me a year’s worth of bills. IN ADVANCE.

Well played, Spectrum. Well played.

And each bill is calculated as if the previous month’s wasn’t paid. Resulting in a higher bill each month.
