Unfiltered Story #32354

I go to a small university, and have been with more or less the same group of students sense day 1. This happened the first day of the 4th quarter. I should also note that just prior to starting school I had my full name changed, but the attendance sheet still reflects my old name.

Teacher: (old name)

Me: that’s me, but it’s actually (new name).

Teacher: what really?

Me: yes, but if it’s easier most people remember (middle name) better.

by now the class is laughing, used to this.

Teacher: (middle name)? why (middle name)?

Me: because it’s my middle name.

Teacher: what really?

Me: yep, want to see my ID?

Teacher: no, just how do you say your last name?

Me: (new last name) I got that changed too.

Teacher: I’m just going to call you ma’am.

it took 10 minutes to get a group of university students to stop laughing. 2 weeks later we had a sub.

Sub: (old name)

Me: *long suffering sigh*

he never did figure out what was so funny.
