Unfiltered Story #32398

Unfiltered | June 15, 2016

(I was recently in my school’s production of The Lion King, where I played the role of older Nala. It was a pretty big role, considering the fact that I had my own song. A couple weeks after the production, I am in 8th period, which I have only had a few times before, so my teacher doesn’t know me. The following conversation ensued.)

Teacher: Hey, was anyone in The Lion King?

Me: Yeah!

Teacher: Oh really? What was your role?

Me: Older Nala.

Teacher: Oh-that was you? Where you sang the song and came up really close?

Me: (Starting to feel good about her positive reaction) Yeah!

Teacher: Oh, you did so well! You were so pretty- up close you look like a regular 8th grader, so I didn’t know it was you.

(I didn’t really know how to respond to that, so I kinda just smiled and left. Nice to know I blend in with everyone else!)
