My brother had fallen and had a suspected broken hip, he’s in the ER when a Doctor approached us. Brother is physically disabled and had been finding it was getting increasingly hard to walk.

Dr “So what’s happened here?”

Brother “I fell this morning and landed hard on my left hip, but my back has been really bad and I’m getting a lot of pressure across my abdomen. I fell because my legs basically disappeared, I couldn’t feel them”.

Dr “I don’t want to hear about that, you’re just here for your hip”.

It takes my brother 2 days to convince someone to look at his back, they finally scan it and find he has crushed vertebrae. He’s rushed to another hospital and put into ICU. It’s taken well over a year and two surgeries before he is able to walk again.
