The Wax Is Waning
(I walk into the living room with a small paper bag in my hand. My sister looks up and sees me grinning.)
Sister: “What’s in the bag?”
Me: “Normally, I would say, none of your beeswax, but…”
(I hand her the bag. She opens it to discover the small bar of beeswax she bought at a farmers’ market a few weeks before.)
Sister: “You’ve been waiting your entire life to use that phrase literally, haven’t you?”
Me: “Maaaaaaybe.”
