You’re The Cat’s Pet Project

(My boyfriend and I are lying in bed. We can hear the cat pawing at the door to get in.)

Me: “I wonder how much of our lives [Cat] actually comprehends.”

Boyfriend: “Well, she knows that we sleep at night because she sleeps at night. She knows that we’ll come back from work, because she always runs up to the window when she hears my truck run up to the drive. And when I have a poop when I get home from work, I can hear her scrabbling at her litter tray in the kitchen. So she’s doing a poop, too; we’re a team.”
