You’re No Help At All
(I work at an amusement park.)
Me: “How are you doing today?”
Customer: “Oh, not so good.”
Me: “Oh, is there anything I can do to help?”
Customer: “No, no.”
Me: “Oh, c’mon. You can’t just say that and expect me not to help!”
Customer: “It’s okay.”
(Throughout the rest of the transaction, she continues to huff and complain about the day but refuses my offers of assistance. I offer her a discount for her bad day, but she says she doesn’t want to be a bother. A day later, I get a complaint about being pushy and not letting someone stay in a bad mood. My manager doesn’t know what to do with himself.)
Me: “So, I got a complaint for trying to help someone have not such a bad day? I guess there are worse things.”
Question of the Week
