You’re A Real Card
Guest: “Hi, I’m [Guest]. I’m here to check in.”
Me: “All righty, I just need your ID and your credit or debit card.”
Guest: “It should be already paid for.”
Me: “All right, then I’ll just need your ID and the card you want on file for incidentals.”
Guest: “You just need my ID?”
Me: “And your credit or debit card.”
Guest: “It’s already paid for.”
Me: “Right, so I need a card for incidentals.”
Guest: “So, you just need my ID?”
Me: “…and a credit or debit card for incidentals.”
Guest: “Oh… I don’t have a card.”
Me: “I’m sorry, I can’t check you in without one.”
Also, surprise, surprise, guess whose reservation was not, in fact, already paid for?
