Your Relationship Has Adapted   

(My family is pretty laid back. We do things on short notice and go with the flow and we tend to have more of a ‘visionary’ perspective on life. My new husband is… as of yet, pretty much the opposite on those things in every way. That has been cause for friction between us. Luckily, we both enjoy sci-fi stuff.)

Me: “So I was talking to Mom and she said that she was once just like you.”

Husband: “How so?”

Me: “Down to earth workaholic. It gives me hope.”

Husband: “Yeah? Well the roles are reversed. She was married to your Dad.” *a very strong visionary*

Me: *smiling* “You will be assimilated.”

Husband: “I have the Y chromosome. As a man I am wired too differently.”

Me: “You will be assimilated! Resistance is futile!”

Husband: *laughing* “No, no, NO!”
