(I’m taking a Spanish class, and we’re learning parts of the body. The teacher is giving us the Spanish terms and asking us to guess the English word. Everything is mundane, until this happens.)
Teacher: “Los labios.”
Student: “Lips.”
Teacher: “Good job! How’d you know that?”
Student: “Honestly? I figured it came from the same root as labia.”
Teacher: “Okay, next word.”
