You Can Have Your Cake And Eat It… But Do It Far Away
Customer: “I’m very gluten intolerant. What cakes do you have that I can eat?”
I show her four different gluten-free cakes.
Customer: “What about this one?”
She points to a gluten cake.
Me: “Sorry, that one isn’t gluten-free.”
Customer: “What? Why? That’s discriminatory!”
She proceeds to throw a minor fit and walks back to her friend to calm down. A minute later, she comes back, points to the non-GF cake, and says with a smirk.
Customer: “I’ll have that one.”
Me: “That was the one with gluten.”
Customer: “Oh, I know!”
She then buys the cake and walks away with the look on her face that she just scammed me out of a million dollars.
