Yet Somehow These Same People Can Wire Their Life Savings To Nigerian Princes

I do live chat customer service for a travel website. This conversation happens multiple times per day. I weep for the general intelligence of people sometimes.

Guest: “I am trying to book a cruise. I put all my details in, but I didn’t get any confirmation.”

Me: “Did you receive an email with your invoice and confirmation number?”

Guest: “No.”

Me: “What does the screen look like that you’re looking at right now?”

Guest: “It has all my details at the bottom and then it says ‘Book Now’.”

Me: “Okay so you’ll want to click on ‘Book Now’ to finish the booking.”

Guest: “Oh, I didn’t realize I had to click on that for it to confirm my booking.”

Cue me slamming my head into my desk.
