Wrong Number But It Felt Right

(I’m carpooling with two friends to go to college. On the way back, my friend gets a call on her cellphone. She doesn’t recognize the number but decides to answer anyway.)

Friend: “Hello?”

(Pause, as the caller replies.)

Friend: “No, this is not Karine, this is Catherine.”

(Caller replies.)

Friend: “Yes, I guess it is a similar name.” *giggles* “And who might you be?”

(Caller replies.)

Friend: “I’m good. How are you?”

(Caller replies.)

Friend: “I’m going home right now.”

(Caller replies.)

Friend: “Well that was a nice chat, Mr [Name]. I’ll have to hang up now. You have a good day!”

(She had no clue who it was.)
