The Moon Is No Longer Romantic

(My boyfriend and I both like the show ‘Steven Universe,’ which features characters called Gems – humanoid aliens who each have a gemstone embedded somewhere on their bodies. The stone gives them powers, including the ability to pull a particular weapon, like a sword or whip, out of it.)

Me: “I figured out what my stone would be if I were a Gem.”

Boyfriend: “Oh, yeah?”

Me: “It’d be a moonstone.”

Boyfriend: “Oh, yeah? Where would it be on your body?”

Me: “Guess.”

Boyfriend: “Oh, no.”

Me: “And then in battle if I had to pull out my weapon—”

Boyfriend: “Stop. Please.”
