Won’t Be In This Together

(My friend is talking to my boyfriend about what the university music program is like, since we’re both English majors and don’t know very many music students.)

Friend: “So, do people just randomly start singing in the halls all the time?”

Boyfriend: “Sometimes, I guess, but not usually while classes are going on. They’ll use the practice rooms or empty classrooms to practice. What exactly do you imagine the music program to be like?”

Friend: “Like living in a giant performance of High School Musical?”

(My boyfriend and I both burst out laughing for a good minute before assuring her that the music program is nothing like High School Musical.)
