With That Attitude, It’s Not Just Your Card Being Declined
We have recently hired someone new, and our manager is helping them out. We have a drive-thru, and while I am restocking the supplies, my manager and the new employee are dealing with the drive-thru.
A customer comes through with what he claims is a debit card with a lot of money on it, but when we charge him, the card declines.
New Hire: “I’m sorry, sir, but it looks like your card declined.”
Customer: “What? Try again.”
New Hire: “Okay.”
The new hire tries again, but the card still declines.
New Hire: “I’m sorry, sir, the card still declined.”
Customer: “That is impossible! I just used it at the store over there!”
There are a lot of other fast food places in our area.
Manager: “We’ll try again on our other machine.”
The two try again, and it fails… again.
Manager: “I’m sorry, but the card keeps declining.”
As the manager hands the card back to the customer, he starts cursing them out.
Customer: “HOW THE F*** IS IT DECLINING?! YOU’RE F****** WITH ME! THIS CARD HAS $10,000 ON IT!”
The manager decides she has had enough, and eventually, she gives him a look.
Manager: “It’s your own d*** card. You deal with it.”
Then, she shut the drive-thru window.
