That’s What Happens When You Cry Wolf

(I am just 13 years old. My 24-year-old brother has come to visit me and my mother, and has brought along his three-year-old son. My mother is in the kitchen and I am on the couch reading a book while the two of them watch TV together. On the show, a werewolf-like creature jumps towards a couple of police officers before jumping away.)

Brother: *to his son* “Hey, was that grandma? It looked just like her!”

(His son giggles but he is quickly drowned out by the laughter from the rest of us when this happens:)

Cop On TV: “Whoa. Was that your mom?”
