Why Nurses Should Rule The World, Part 19
My sister is an emergency room nurse and likes to tell stories about one of her coworkers who always has a smart answer ready for any situation. A notorious problem in the ER is people who come in for things that are not actually emergencies and then complain when they’re put at a low priority.
During a very busy day, this nurse is hurrying through the waiting room and is stopped by a man.
Man: “Hello, nurse? This is taking too long! I’ve been waiting for almost two hours!”
Nurse: “Congratulations! Good for you!”
Man: “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Nurse: “It means you’re not in danger of dying any time soon. See you in another couple of hours!”
