Where Does All The Time Go?

(One of my friends is telling me about a party she went to as a teenager.)

Friend: “I can’t remember how old I was, but it must’ve been a long time ago, because [Song] had just come out.”

Me: “What year did it come out?”

Friend: *looks it up* “In 2009, so I must’ve been what, eleven or twelve?”

Me: “Uh…”

Friend: “Yes?”

Me: “2009 was six years ago.”

Friend: “Yes, and?”

Me: “You’re twenty.”

(It took her a few seconds to realise she’d actually forgotten her own age!)
