When You Make Generic Comments You’re Generally An A**-Hole

(I’m standing in line waiting to check out with my daughter, who is half-American, half-Israeli, when I hear this political gem behind me.)

Lady: “They should just kill off all the Israelis!”

Me: “You want to kill my kid?”

Lady: “What! No!”

Me: “You just said ‘kill all Israelis!’” *pointing to my daughter* “She’s Israeli!”

Lady: “Well, I didn’t mean her!”

(I take out my phone and scroll through family photos.)

Me: “Do you want to kill them?!”

Lady: “What?! No!”

Me: “Israeli!”

(I walked out with my things with her and her friend’s mouth open. I really hope she learned not to wish death on anyone.)
