Welcome To Retail, Part 11
I work at a ladies’ underwear boutique as a sales assistant. It’s my first week and my boss had made it clear that I’m not supposed to spend too much time with one person, and I needed to be available to help others and watch the entrance.
Customer: “Where is [product]?”
I help her find it.
Customer: *Handing me the shopping basket.* “Put it in there.”
I do, but it quickly becomes clear she wants me to follow her around, hold the bag, and put the items in for her.
Me: *Politely.* “Ma’am, I need to watch the front entrance.”
I hand her the bag. She picks it up, stares at it, stares at me, and then throws it on the ground and storms out.
Me: *To a coworker.* “Does that happen a lot?”
Coworker: “Kinda, but you got lucky. She threw it on the ground and not at you.”
Eeeeep!
