Calling Wails

(My sister’s on the phone to her friend who is at her Grandmother’s in Wales, which is several hundred kilometers away. They’re rather loud which is starting to annoy mum, so she goes over to tell her to quiet down.)

Mum: “You don’t have to shout, you know.”

Sister: *sighs* “She’s in Wales, mum. If I don’t shout, how’s she supposed to hear me?”
