Very Heady Language

| Learning | January 5, 2016

(We are discussing Romeo and Juliet. The teacher is occasionally explaining some of the things that Romeo is saying in the dialogue.)

Teacher: “And here, Romeo is basically saying ‘I want to destroy the part of me that makes me Romeo!’ So he just wants to stab himself in the head.”

Student #1: “Cerebrum.”

Student #2: “Hypothalamus.”

Student #3: “Frontal Cortex.”

Teacher: “I’m pretty sure Shakespeare was referring to his head in general.”
