Veggie Beggars Can’t Be Choosers

We offered a weekly vegetable bag that came prepacked from our wholesaler. This wasn’t good enough for one lady. She didn’t eat onions, she grew her own zucchinis, you get the picture. She came in every Friday morning, so every Thursday we packed a special veggie bag for our beloved favourite customer.

One Thursday, we were totally slammed and had no time to pack her bag, so when she came in on Friday we had totally forgotten about it.

Me: “I’m so sorry, ma’am. We can pack your bag for you quickly — ten minutes max.”

She wouldn’t have it. She complained to our boss who, again, offered to have her bag packed quickly, but no. She angrily left the shop, never to return.
