Not Feeling The Motion Of The Emotion

(When we were first married my husband and I lived apart for a few years and he would send me romantic songs. Fast forward six years: we’re living together and he starts playing one of these songs. I curl up in his lap and get weepy.)

Me: “I just remember how miserable and lonely I was without you.”

Husband: “Yeah, I remember how miserable you were without me, too.”

Me: “Hey!” *I punch him in the side*

Husband: “What?! I was emoting with you.”
