Unable To Register Any Brain Power
In the 1970s, I am a college student working as a cashier in a department store. We have just started using electronic cash registers, although as it is before bar codes, the prices have to be entered on the keypad. The register then provides the total.
I am ringing up the order for a middle-aged couple who are watching with great interest. The woman turns to the man.
Customer: “Look, [Man]! These girls don’t have to have any brains at all!”
