Tutti Fruitcake

(My daughter is 10. We have recently been visiting relatives in Pennsylvania.)

Daughter: “What was that cake called that we ate at Grandma’s house? Mom, name all the kinds of cake you can make.”

Me: “I can make a lot of kinds of cake. Can you narrow it down?”

Daughter: “It had a funny name. I think it was called fart cake?”

Me: “I don’t think I’ve heard of that before.” *short pause while I work it out* “Oh! Do you mean whoopie pie?”

Daughter: “Yeah! That’s what it was! Fart cake!”

(To this day we call whoopie pies ‘fart cake.’)
