Trained To Pay It Forward

(I have to take the metro to the shops in the city across the river as the ones in my city don’t carry foods that I can eat, due to illness. When I get to the metro station and go to buy a ticket, I find a valid Day-Saver ticket stuck in the screen of the kiosk. This is not the first time I’ve found or been handed a ticket as ‘paying it forward’ seems to happen a lot in the metro station. When I got back about an hour later, I saw an elderly couple reaching the kiosk for a ticket.)

Me: “Excuse me; are you two going anywhere in Zone A?”

Elderly Man: “I think so. We’re just going two stops over.”

Me: *hand my ticket over to them* “Have a good day!”

Elderly Woman: “Thank you, young lady!”

(I like the pay-it-forward system in this city and am glad to play my part!)
