Tip The Cat

, , , , , | Friendly | February 4, 2019

My dad and I were passing through Santa Barbara on a road trip and had just gotten lunch. On our way back to the car, I spotted a sign on the sidewalk advertising a cat cafe. Being cat lovers, we went to investigate.

When we got there, we saw that they charge $10 to spend an hour with the cats, which were in an adjacent room behind a baby gate. The fee was more than reasonable, but they were at full capacity and we had to get back on the road and didn’t have an hour to spare. As one of the cats eyed us from the other side of the baby gate meant to prevent them from escaping, Dad dropped $20 in the donation jar.

As soon as he did that, the cat watching us jumped the baby gate and came over for pets! It was like he was thinking, “For $20, they should get to pet at least one cat.”
