Time To Get Up And Move(ments)

(My 12-year-old daughter is having a bit of trouble getting up, so I go to her room—which she shares with her younger six-year-old sister—to give her some ‘encouragement’.)

12-Year-Old Daughter: “My bed is too comfy! It doesn’t want me to get up.”

(Being prone to silliness myself, I play along and expand on her comment a bit.)

Me: “Of course it doesn’t want you to get up. It LOOOVVVEEES you! It’s saying to you ‘No, don’t go! I need you! I want you! I never want you to ever leave!’.”

(Out of the blue, my darling six-year-old daughter pipes up.)

Six-Year-Old Daughter: “That’s what the toilet must say to YOU, Daddy!”
