Time Is Distressingly Linear
My work has quarterly competencies — basically a computer module you have to complete. On the first day of the new quarter, new questions reload. Every 120 days or so, I overhear the following from a coworker.
On the last day of the quarter:
Coworker: “I have to find time to do the competency module; it’s due today.”
The next day, the first day of the next quarter:
Coworker: “Why is the competency module assigned to me again?! I just did it yesterday!”
Rinse and repeat.
