Time For Them To Wake Up And Smell The Coffee

| Learning | November 16, 2016

(I work in a Further Education Centre, on the front desk. Early morning, a student walks in, dressed entirely in black with an Australian cork hat.)

Student: “Hi, yeah, can you give me £1.20 for a coffee?”

Me: “Excuse me?”

Student: “Give me £1.20; I want a coffee.”

Me: “Erm, no.”

Student: “Why not?!”

Me: “I’ve never seen you before, and you’ve walked into the office and just outright asked for money from a complete stranger. That’s rude, and it’s not in my job description to just give my money to students who ask for it.”

Student: “But it’s only £1.20!”

Me: “And believe me, if I had £1.20 on me I would be getting a coffee… for ME!”

Student: “So how will I get a coffee?”

Me: “Well, not from me anyway!”

(He then turned and walked out. Never saw him again afterwards either.)

Question of the Week

Have you ever served a bad customer who got what they deserved?

I have a story to share!
