This Tour Has Reached New Heights
(My senior high school class from Louisiana is on a school trip to England. Half a dozen of us sign up to go on the Jack the Ripper historical tour in London. Our chaperone is the PE coach, a man over 6’5″. Our tour guide is around 5′.)
Tour Guide: “Hello. I’m [Tour Guide], and I’ll be taking you on the tour today.”
(She leads us away from the Tower Underground station and down an alley to a plaza. It’s dark, and no one else is there but us. We stop next to a bench in the middle of the plaza, and the tour guide ends up standing next to our PE coach. The tour guide looks up, and then up some more, at our coach. She jumps onto a bench, and then she is at head height to our coach.)
Tour Guide: *smiles triumphantly and starts telling us about the significance of the plaza*
