This Spells Trouble, Part 5

My Nana had a sheltie when I was growing up. He knew a lot of human words. So she tried not to say things like “out” or “pee” as he would go nuts and bark his head off trying to herd you outside the moment he heard those words.

Nana: “Can you take Prince to go…” *Glances at the dog.* “P. E. E.?”

Prince starts barking like crazy and running in circles by the back door.

Nana: “How did he understand?! I didn’t say the word, I spelled it!”

Me: “Nana, what is the first letter of that word?”

Nana: *Thinks a moment, laughs.* “Oops!”
