This Relationship Has Reached A Fork

(My new boyfriend and I have been dating each other for few weeks. Though it’s obvious we’re already fond of each other, none of us wants to be the first to say ‘I love you’ to the other. It begins to be a tricky game. We are in the pantry, where we have ended up starving after a party.)

Me: *dropping the last pizza sleeve on the floor* “Oh, gosh, sorry. I’m so clumsy!”

Boyfriend: “It’s okay. I love you anyway.”

(His eyes widens while he’s struck by what he just said. He then tries to hide behind the first thing he finds.)

Boyfriend: *holding a fork before his reddening face* “Magical fork!”
