This Kind Of Ignorance Is A Sight To Behold

When I used to work at a grocery store, we had a special checkout lane for those with disabilities and access issues. It was wider and closest to the exit.

I’m working the regular checkout lane next to it, and my current customer is eyeing up the accessible lane with frustration.

Customer: “That man in the disabled checkout! He shouldn’t be there!”

Me: “The man with the cane and the seeing-eye dog? I’m pretty sure he’s blind, ma’am.”

Customer: “He’s faking it! I saw him blink and I know blind people can’t do that!”
